Boot Camp

Why?

  • Boot Camp was developed by Apple as a solution to the age old dilemma with purchasing an Apple computer. Should I get a Mac if I need windows for some programs for work/ school/ etc?

Where do we use Boot Camp?

  • Boot Camp is installed on the Carlon Learning Center Mac mini, the Kiosk Mac mini, and the Distance Learning Lab Mac mini. Notice a trend here? Most people have no need of Boot Camp, but for users who request Boot Camp, we give it to them.

How?

  • Boot Camp dynamically creates a Macintosh Drive CD with necessary drivers for all Apple hardware under windows, and creates a partition on the hard disk for you to install Windows on by resizing your current Mac OS partition. The necessary instructions for sucessful installation come with Boot Camp.
  • Boot Camp is an applet for Mac OS X and can be downloaded from Apple's website.
