Is there any support yet in RSI's IDL? -- PatrickStein - 24 Mar 2005

Nope. Nor will there be. As of a meeting between me, DIRS, RSI, and others in May, 2005, they won't be supporting CORBA, nor do they have any plans to do so anymore. I even pointed out to them that every time I asked, it was going to be supported in a future release, and then suddenly, RSI was all "We don't know what you're talking about." Turns out they never had any solid plans to do so. roll eyes (sarcastic) They've got this "IDL Connector" product that they're going to start pushing as a way to plug IDL into other computing environments, we'll have to find out if that even makes sense or if it's another half-assed attempt at networking IDL. So, no support/control for threading, no support for networking, no support for distributed processing. Yup, glad to see they aren't resting on their laurels. -- BobKrzaczek - 15 Jun 2005
