This is the Optics Working Group web, where discussion and materials can be posted regarding the optics curriculum. As you open new major or "top level" topics in this web, just list them here under "Available Information". This page should become a central point, a "home page", for these discussions and materials.

New Users

• TWikiTutorial is an excellent overview and tutorial of using a wiki like ours (TWiki). 20 minutes or less, or your money back!
• WelcomeGuest and TWikiSite are quick high level summaries of what a wiki is and what you can do with it.
• WhatsNew is where news of site changes (like new diagramming or documentation tools) is presented.
• TWikiRegistration is where you would sign up to get an account on this wiki, if you don't already have one.

Once you've browsed those links, you should be ready to go. However, the wiki approach is pretty different from other sites that a quick run through is sometimes useful. Let's say you want to create a new page, and you want it to appear here on the front page of your web.

1. Think of a WikiWord for this topic name. Say, "PriceOfTeaInChina".
2. Edit the page where you want a link to the topic to appear. This page, for example. Click either WYSIWYG or Edit for a what-you-see-is-what-you-get editor, or a wiki-syntax plaintext editor, respectively.
3. Make whatever changes you want in the page, typing PriceOfTeaInChina where you want the link to appear. For example, you might add it to the bullet list up top: * PriceOfTeaInChina is where I've summarized that blah blah of my blah.
4. Save the page. Now, you'll see the text you entered, followed by a little question mark. This means that the topic doesn't yet exist.
5. Click the question mark, and you'll be creating a new page.
