This is a demo of a single page Q and A system.

Imagine pleasant-but-short text here. You know the drill, "if your question isn't answered on this page, enter it in the box below and someone will respond within the next day or two" That sort of thing.

Blah blah blah blah If you have an pressing or urgent need for an answer, contact the admins at help@cis.rit.edu Blah blah blah blah

We can move this box to the bottom, as well. You know, getting the user to read through the page before getting to the question box. Or we can keep the box at the top to be more friendly. We can pretty much put the box and the generated questions anywhere on the page, separate from each other.

Questions and Answers

  • Where can I print my labs? -- BobKrzaczek - 04 Nov 2005 16:22:04
    • There are three printers available for general use in the Center. You can find more detail on printing in the Center, including network setup and driver configuration in the PrintingStuff topic.
      • guppy is the big Xerox copier and printer in the 2nd floor mailroom.
      • sailfish is the Xerox N32 in the 2nd floor DIP lab, 76-2115.
      • dolphin is the Xerox N32 in the 3rd floor printer room, 76-3117.

  • When I put my CD-R, where are its files? -- BobKrzaczek - 04 Nov 2005 16:26:57
    • You can find any mounted CD-ROM images on a Sun under the /cdrom directory. Also, if you're using the Gnome desktop, you should see a new icon in Nautilus representing the new disk volume.

  • Why is the Internet down? -- BobKrzaczek - 04 Nov 2005 19:20:37

The division here between answered questions and new question is arbitrary. Making it happen is just a matter of cut'n'pasting the text below to the text above when you answer a question. We can also just leave everything in a single list, if you prefer. We can also arrange for a "new questions at top" instead of "at bottom" if you prefer. It's all pretty easy.

New Questions
