Instructions for converting Coby DVR file to one usable in Quicktime and Yarbus

  • Open VLC Player (Icon is a traffic cone)
  • Choose File -> Streaming/Exporting Wizard
  • Select "Transcode/Save to file" -> Click next
  • Choose file -> Click next
  • Click next
  • Check "Transcode video" -> Choose Codec H.264 -> Click next
  • Choose output save location and save name -> Click next
  • Click Finish
  • Dismiss Error message (Have to check if sound still works)
  • Wait for VLC to finish transcoding
  • Close everything
  • Check new file in quicktime
  • Delete .asf file
